Performance Evaluation of AODV, DSR, OLSR Routing Protocol in Ad hoc Networks

In this paper, an effort has been made to examine and compare the performance of the reactive and proactive adhoc routing protocols by employing OPNET Simulator according to increasing number of failed nodes in the network. In current study, a comparison of reactive routing protocols such as Distance Vector Routing (DSR), Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing(AODV) and proactive routing protocols such as Optimized Link State Routing(OLSR) has been done in terms of delay, throughput and network load, by increasing amount of failed nodes in the network. Three routing protocols are being examined on the above specified parameters and had been found that OLSR performance is better as compared to AODV and DSR on persisting node failure in the network.
